Problem:
Net Express was recently installed on a computer. When trying to run it, a Semaphore failure error is reported.
It is necessary to uninstall Net Express 4.0, clean up registry and previous installed folders, reboot, and reinstall Net Express 4.0
Resolution:
step 1) control panel -> administrative tools-> services
stop micro focus directory server
stop micro focus xdb server
step 2) control panel -> add/remove programs and uninstall Micro Focus Net Express 4.0
step 3) start -> run -> regedit
if net express is the only micro focus product you have installed then search and delete "micro focus" . if other micro focus products are installed on this machine it would be better to just search and delete "net express".
do edit-> find-> look for "micro focus" and delete all occurrences in registry.
do edit -> find -> look for "net express" and delete all occurrences in registry.
keep going from top of registry (highlight My Computer) and search until reach bottom of registry. When no more occurrences can be found of what you are looking for then done searching registry.
step 4) make sure delete where net express was installed. for example,
c:\\program files\\micro focus and delete micro focus folder and sub folders.
also, check to see if there is a c:\\mfaslmf folder and delete if the folder exist.
step 5) reboot machine.
if certain keys could not delete everything in step 3, then search again and delete. if still have problem deleting net express or micro focus keys from the registry, then the registry will need to be cleanup.
step 6) reinstall net express 4.0. Use Start -> Run and browse for the setup.exe on the micro focus installation cd or wherever you copy the installation cd to.
step 7) apply latest wrappack (all04n40.exe) . Use Start -> Run and browse to where the all04n40.exe is located and click OK. This will run the all04n40.exe wrappack.
Make sure that the product runs and the icense is ok
