Hi Michael

Micro Focus 5.1 Server

SUN Solaris 2.11

I found the answer to this problem, in the Micro Focus install directory etc, there is a file called cob.cfg, in here you can define the C compiler to use in line.

# C compiler and option

cccmd=${CC:-cc}  change to -gcc

Richard

Since that's inheriting from the environment, you could simply set CC=gcc in your environment, rather than editing the file. I don't believe there's any guarantee this will work - that is, that you won't run into issues compiling or linking some sources with this configuration.
