Revoking a license on UNIX

With Internet access

In order to revoke a license on your current or old UNIX machine you will first need to open the license manager by navigating to the following directory: /var/microfocuslicensing/bin/

Then you will run: cesadmintool.sh

When opened, it will look like this:

After ‘Enter Option’, enter ‘5’ for ‘Revoke Licenses’ then select the product you want to revoke from the list.

You will then be presented with a new authorisation code which you will use on your new machine.

Without Internet access

To revoke a license from your current or old machine without Internet access, the same process as detailed above should be followed. However, at the point of revoking the license, instead of receiving a new authorisation code automatically, you will need to send the file generated during revoke to Support in order for a new authorisation code to be generated. The file will be stored in the following directory: /var/microfocuslicensing/bin and will look like this: RT_2011-4-12-1127.txt

Support will use this file to generate a new authorisation code which will be communicated to you.

You should install this code on your new machine.

Please note: If you do not have internet access on the new machine you can authorise the license manually yourself using the following link: http://supportline.microfocus.com/activation/ and entering the authorisation code generated during revoke.

Alternatively, support will need to generate the license string and send this to you.
