This appears to be caused when the File Open/Save/Save As common dialog boxes are being displayed using the Net Express Dialog System screen painter. The Dialog System screen painter in Visual COBOL works just fine.
A couple workarounds.
Open up a NX command prompt and run the screen painter using the following command:
DSWIN /RS screenset-name.gs
This will output a file screenset-name.RS.
You can also use File Explorer to change the compatibility mode of the DSWIN.EXE program under Properties-->Compatibility.
You need to change the option Reduced color mode to 8-bit (256) color.
You should then be able to save the file from the screen painter itself but don't use the drop-down list to change directories or it will fail.
