This applies to Server for COBOL also known as Application Server for Server Express.

Ensure that you have set all your environmental variables; $COBDIR should point to the installation directory of Server for COBOL.

Run the Apptrack utility to install runtime licenses.

You can do this in two ways, depending on the version of Server for COBOL you have.

Method 1 is for versions 4.0 or later:

1. Invoke the command “mflicense”
2. Select option 2 for Application Server License System
3. You will then be shown what the COBDIR is set to, press Enter to continue
4. Enter your password if one has already been setup.
5. This will open the Apptrack utility

Method 2 is for versions previous to 4.0:

1. Invoke the command

$COBDIR/aslmf/apptrack

1. Enter your password if one has already been setup.
2. This will launch the Apptrack utility.

Once you have the Apptrack Utility opened, you are able to install a runtime license.

Install a license:

1. Select option 3 – License Install
2. Enter the serial number part of the license key as requested and hit enter
3. Enter the license number part of the license key and hit enter

NOTE: Ensure there are no spaces at the beginning or end of the license keys.

If you entered the license information correctly you will see the message “License installed OK”.

To see the licenses you have just installed:

Select option 6 – Reinitialize Licensing and then Option 1 – License List

Uninstalling LMF Runtime Licenses

Uninstall a runtime license from Apptrack:

1. Select option 4 – License uninstall
2. Enter the serial number part of the License Key and hit enter
3. Enter the license part of the license key and hit enter

NOTE: Ensure there are no spaces at the beginning or end of the license keys.

If you entered all the license information correctly, you will see the message “License uninstalled OK”

To verify that the licenses have been removed:

Select option 1 – License List
