Hello everyone,

We've migrated a Windows XP machine to Windows 7 and there is a matrix printer directly on this machine.

Now prior to this change, my machine with Win7 could succesfully connect to that printer using net use lpt1 \\\\printermachine\\MATRIX

However with the current configuration (Both machines with W7) i cannot, when i execute 'RUN' it returns the error "I/o error: file LPT1 - 13 file not found"

I stumbled across this article:

community.microfocus.com/.../18441.runtime-error-9013-when-attempting-to-print-to-lptn-where-the-physical-printer-port-is-mapped-via-a-net-use-statement-on-windows-7.aspx

But on both machines there is only Server 5.0 installed (for COBOL deployment).

Would that mean i have to upgrade both Server to 5.1? If so, how do i proceed?

The only version of Net Express or Server that is compatible or supported with Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 is Net Express 5.1 and Server 5.1.

Previous versions of Net Express and Server have not been tested nor are they supported under these operating systems.

If you wish to take advantage of the fix specified in the article then you should upgrade to Net Express 5.1 and Server 5.1. If you are currently under maintenance with Micro Focus then this would be a no charge upgrade.

Thanks.
