We have Lawson on Unix box that uses Server Express 5.1 for compiles.  We need to upgrade from wrap pack 3 to wrap pack 5 and I'm curious as to if this install is on top of the current install or if it requires a new install of the entire Server Express.  In the past I upgraded from 5.0 to 5.1 and that was a complete new install, but I have never done a wrap pack before.  Any additional install instructions is appreciated as the readme doesn't give me much other than telling me to create a new directory and running the install and following it from there.  It doesn't say anything about if I already have Server Express installed.

Also with the 5 to 5.1 we had to reenter the license keys - am I going to need to do that as well?

Server Express 5.1 wrap packs are full products and dont upgrade existing installations.

The recommended upgrade procedure is to move the current installed product to one side and them install the new version in the current location.

If COBDIR = /opt/microfocus/cobol

cd /opt/microfocus/

mv cobol cobol51WS3

mkdir cobol

install SX 5.1 WS5 into cobol

This way you keep 5.1 WS3 if needed and you dont have to change any of your environment setting to pick up the new version of the product.

Becuase you are installing 5.1 WS5 into the same location you wont need to re-install your licenses.
