This page explains how to install Net Express, Net Express with .NET and Net Express Professional Edition, and the other software on the CD.
If you want to create applications (using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET) to run in the Microsoft .NET framework, then follow the instructions for installing Net Express with .NET. If you want to create Windows applications that do not run in the .NET framework, or if you want to create applications to run on UNIX, then follow the instructions for installing Net Express 4.0.
Warnings:
If you install Net Express with .NET and either Net Express Professional or Net Express 4.0, you may be asked to reboot when Net Express Professional/Net Express 4.0 has completed installing, but before Net Express with .NET has started installing. Do not choose to reboot your machine until the Net Express with .NET install has completed. You may need to minimize the Setup window to see the dialog box for the install of Net Express .NET.
If, you choose to install the Microsoft Prerequisite software, you will see a dialog box with a button Setup Instructions. Do not click this button as it terminates the install. Instead, click Skip.
If you have a beta version of Net Express with .NET installed on your machine, you must uninstall it before installing this GA release.
If the installation process detects previous versions of Net Express, Mainframe Express, and/or Revolve it applies a protection FixPack to them. This ensures that all Micro Focus products on your machine are using the same licensing system. It also allows earlier versions of Net Express to use the same license key as Net Express 4.0.
To install the products contained on this CD you must have administration privileges on the machine you are installing on.

Net Express Professional Edition
Net Express Professional Edition consists of Net Express and Revolve. If you have both of these installed, or have purchased Net Express Professional Edition, then install using one of the following links.

Net Express with .NET
We recommend you read the Installation Notes before installing Net Express with .NET.
You need Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Integrated Development Environment installed before you can install Net Express with .NET. The required software is supplied with this product. When you start installing, if Visual Studio .NET is not installed, setup will install it for you.

If you don't have Revolve and have not ordered it, then install Net Express using the following link.
We recommend you read the Installation Notes before installing Net Express.

If you want to evaluate Revolve, install it using the link for installing Net Express Professional Edition, above. There is a 30-day evaluate key supplied for Revolve, which is activated as soon as you install it. So, we recommend that you don't install it until you are ready to evaluate it.

Enterprise Server and Application Server for Net Express
If you want to test your Net Express applications on a machine other than the development machine, then you might need to install Enterprise Server or Application Server for Net Express on that machine.
Enterprise Server and Application Server are already installed if you have Net Express installed.
We recommend you read the Installation Notes before installing Enterprise Server or Application Server.

.NET users must first read the warning at the top of the page.
If the label on the top of the box does not include "Professional Edition" do not install any of the professional options unless you are doing an evaluation and may want to purchase the professional editions with is the Net Express PLUS Revolve product.
