Problem:
You open a Net Express Command prompt and you enter the adiscf command to be able to configure adis behavior for screen i-o. But although you can see the menu bar at the bottom, you can not see any of the menu options in the main panel.
Resolution:
Adiscf was designed when the command prompt window had a fixed size and there were not any screen buffer. So to get it working properly, you need to reduce the screen buffer size to match the real window size.
For example, if you wanted to configure adis to enable function keys, these are the steps that you would need to do:
1.
Open a Net Express command prompt
2.
At the command prompt window you need to reduce the Screen Buffer Size to match exactly the Window Size, or you will have problems with adiscf.
Click on the top left corner and select properties. Then reduce the Screen Buffer Height to 25, that is the same value that you see in Window Size. Then click OK.
If you select "Apply properties to current window only" you will have to repeat this step each time that you open a new command prompt to use adiscf.
3.
enter adiscf
4.
press F6 to check that you still have 6 configurations to choose from. You can choose one or press Esc to leave the default configuration.
The previous step is optional and you don't have to do it if you already know that you are using the right configuration. The following steps show you how you would change the configuration so it is possible to use Function keys, but it would be the same for any other configurable.
5.
press F2 for Alter
6.
press F3 for Accept/Display Options
7.
press F3 for Individual Options and to be able to see a list of all the available options.
8.
select "1 User function keys enable/disable" and ensure that option 2 is selected:
2 : All user function keys are enabled. Pressing a user function key during
an accept will result in the accept being terminated.
9.
press Esc three times to come back to the main menu
10.
press F4 to Save the configuration. If you create a new configuration (F2), make sure that the new configuration is "chosen" at the main menu (F6).
11.
Once your desired configuration is selected, ensure that the ADISCTRL file is also distributed with the application.
