We installed relativity 2.2 on our test server last year but never got around to doing it on our production server and am now finding my notes dont' make sense. We were able to read our current (v12) relativity files after the update but not update them. After discussing with someone in support, I was told I needed to create a directive file on the server. I remember what was in the directive file but I don't have good notes on what it was named. I believe that if I had a relativity catalog named relABC that I needed to create a directive file called relABC.directive but I'm unsure. It was because we dont use Dev Hub in our Visual Cobol setup on Linux.
I cannot find anything about this directive file anywhere in the documentation. Can someone help? I'm trying to avoid setting up a support case.
Jennifer,
The Relativity Data Server, by itself, doesn't really have a directive file, other than the odbc.ini file, which already exists. So, I'm wondering if you mean the Micro Focus File Handler directive file, which is documented in the VisualCOBOL.
You say "I remember what was in the directive file". Can you tell me what you remember. That should help me figure out what you're looking for.

Hi Jennifer,
You mention you were able to read your Cobol data using Relativity, so I am assuming that Relativity is working fine. So you have problems to update data. What error are you receiving? Maybe that catalog only have Read permisions, not insert/update for that table/file.
