Oscar, if your requirement is to create a file if the file does not exist, then in the FILE-CONTROL paragraph, use SELECT OPTIONAL. When you use SELECT OPTIONAL and the file does not exist at OPEN I-O, it is created (as if it were an OPEN OUTPUT). The file status will be '05' if the file was created, otherwise '00'; note that '05' is a 'success' status because the first character is '0'.

Hello thanks for replying, I did not know that option for the creation of files since although we are doing tests with 12.13 
we still have clients with 7.03 and I do not know if for that version of the runtime applies your command, on the other hand 
already doing another type of tests the error I am passing with any type of access to the files is removing that code error may be
 a topic of my linux but came working fine until Friday ... you know of causality that can be, and also check the size of the FD but 
there is nothing that looks out of the usual in our application I would like before reinstalling linux see if I can solve this error

buen dia, voy a tratar de ser un poco mas claro, les pido excusas ya que como se notara mi ingles es ingles de traductor voy a poner el problema en ingles y español para ver si es facil de hacerme entender.

estoy utilizando archlinux de 64 bits desde hace unos meses sin problemas con el runtime 12.14 de 32bits, tenemos una ERP algo robusto en cobol y ha trabajado bien hasta la semana pasada, haciendo una mejora en el ERP se nececito crear un archivo nuevo de configuracion pero al intentar hacerlo de la manera que siempre se ha echo aqui esperando el error 35 para hacer el OPEN OUTPUT empeso el runtime a sacar este error 30.75, procedi a buscar informacion al error y al no encontrarlo entonces puse mi caso en el foro, cuando continue con otras pruebas creando archivo temporales o de configuracion tambien empezo a retornar este error en todo el ERP.

al ver que es un fallo general procedi a reinstalar el cobol teniendo los mismos resultados y por ultimo realice una instalacion limpia del arhlinux en dos PC diferente obetiniendo el mismo resultado.

lo ultimo que realice es montar el ERP y el cobol en un CENTOS 7 donde todo empezo a funcionar bien, parece ser un problema del sistema operativo pero quiero saber cual es o que desencadeno el error ya que tengo 3 meses trabjando en Archlinux y este error salio de la nada.

espero ser calro en esta ocacion.

I am using archlinux 64 bit for a few months without problems with the 12.14 32bit runtime, we have a robust ERP in cobol and it worked well until last week, making an improvement in the ERP you need to create a new configuration file but when trying to do it the way it has always been done here waiting for error 35 to do the OPEN OUTPUT empeso the runtime to get this error 30.75, proceeded to look for information error and not find it then I put my case in the forum, when continue with other tests creating temporary or configuration files also started to return this error throughout the ERP.

to see that it is a general fault proceeded to reinstall the cobol having the same results and lastly perform a clean installation of the arhlinux in two different PCs obtaining the same result.

the last thing I do is to mount the ERP and cobol in a CENTOS 7 where everything started to work well, seems to be a problem of the operating system but I want to know which is or that triggered the error since I have 3 months working in Archlinux and this error came out of nowhere.

I hope to be hot on this occasion.

Como el error 30,75 es un error de sistema debes buscar en el sistema que error es ese. Ya que podemos estar diciendote cosas para hacer y no vas a ver ninguna solucion.

Para ver el error de sistema debes mirar el fichero que te indico mas abajo. (errno.h)

more /usr/include/asm-generic/errno.h

si no estuviera en ese path buscalo en modo root desde el raiz

find . name errno.h -print

Y cuentanos que dice el error.

Como el error 30,75 es un error de sistema debes buscar en el sistema que error es ese. Ya que podemos estar diciendote cosas para hacer y no vas a ver ninguna solucion.

Para ver el error de sistema debes mirar el fichero que te indico mas abajo. (errno.h)

Ante todo, comparto lo que dice jcantero, de fijarse el error 75 en el archivo errno.h para ver que dice.

En Windows ese error es esto #define EOVERFLOW 75 /* Value too large for defined data type */

Quizás sea casualidad, pero en Visual Basic, el error 75 está relacionado con algo parecido a lo que te sucede: Path/File access error (Error 75)

Podrías compartir el código de como tienes definido el archivo para ver el código? Te da el mismo problema con el usuario root?
