Problem:

The installation of RM/COBOL Development or Runtime System fails with the following error message:

"This MSXML 6.0 package is not supported on the current processor type."

The RM/COBOL Runtime and Development System installations try to install the 32-bit version of the MSXML 6.0 redistributable.  This redistributable package is not compatible with some 64-bit versions of Windows.

Resolution:

You can manually install the MSXML 6.0 64-bit redistributable package on your target machine.  This will allow the RM/COBOL Runtime or Development System to complete their installation procedure properly.

You can obtain the MSXML 6.0 64-bit redistributable (msxml6_x64.msi) from Microsoft:

Hi Steve,

Is it possible the Runcobol v11 creates a MSXML3.dll file? Is it possible to use a

MSXML3 6 instead of 3 with RM/COBOL 11?
