I periodically get a capture error when attempting to perform an execute in a phantom background process.
Unable to create capture file.
[EMFILE] Too many open files
The next transaction just a little while later in the same phantom process performs the same execute operation without errors.
Is this error related to an overall system limit or is it specific to a user/process?
I am wondering if if it happening more often than I know as it might not be recorded in a user session.
I am running Universe version 11.1.3 (Yes, I know it is time to upgrade).
Is there something I can monitor or adjust to fix this issue?
As a fallback, I am planning to change the executed statement to a subroutine call.
Do you think this would fix this error?
All insight into this error condition would be helpful.

What operating system are you using? What is the value of MFILES after you execute the TCL "CONFIG ALL" command? It sounds like the error might be related to the rotating file pool configuration of UV.
