Greg,

That’s a qustion that begs a whole volume of other questions. Unfortunately the only answer I can offer is “it depends” and the general advice “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.

If you want to consolidate be aware that there may well be additional license costs for UniVerse and if you use any additional 3rd-party software there may be additional costs involved.

Unfortunately - while you COULD do this, whether you SHOULD do this - and whether any costs involved - need hands-on knowledge beyond the scope of this community forum..

I cannot tell you how many times I have converted from Unidata to Universe or Universe to Unidata. If you have PROC’s it will be messy. If you have Pick Style dictionaries it will be messy. The compilers have a few differences depending on if you are using INFORMATION option or something else. Depending on how much code and dictionaries you have it takes about a week or two to verify it.

Since I use a EclipseIDE tools I can copy from Universe to Unidata or the other way without thinking. This allows me to do this very seamlessly.

Good Luck
