Help With New UniData Install

I guess I'm a better programmer than Admin. I have successfully(?) installed UniData on an AWS Server. But I'll be damned if I can start the DB. The install Manual states:
You can now start UniData by selecting All Programs > Rocket U2 > UniData RDBMS 8.3.2.

I assume that references:
C:\\ProgramData\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Rocket U2\\UniData RDBMS 8.3\\UDT 
or (directly):
C:\\U2\\ud83\\bin\\udt.exe

Unfortunately, the result is:
Error msgno = 427. args = VOC
errno=2: No such file or directory

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

To Start UniData, from an Admin Command prompt

cd \\U2\\ud83\\bin

startud

To Stop UniData

stopud or stopud -f

You can also start UniData by starting it from the services control panel

Can you tell me where to find instructions on setting up a new Account DB (eg: as opposed to the Demo account)?

A UniData Account is quite simply a directory that has been prepared for use by UniData as account. This is done via using the newacct command from the command prompt.

I would suggest you read a bit more from our documentation site in the UniData Administering UniData on Windows and UNIX Platforms Version 8.3.2 manual for example. I've attached that to this reply.

Rich, no problem , I thought the section in Admin manual would be useful in terms of Account Creation

It was, Jonathan. I'd been struggling with that and the Using UniData manual directions for some time. Your emphasis on the "newacct" and "startud" commands set me in the right direction. I appreciate it.
