Gregory,

There are multiple techniques depending upon what you want to achieve and what might already be deployed - fpr example:

  • UniData as an ODBC/JDBC data source
  • UniData objects exposed via a RESTful Web Service
  • Executing ECL commands such as LIST/SORT with the TOXML option
  • Executing SQL commands
  • Executing any UniData  program or procedure to generate an data exchenge file (e.g. CSV).

As a client you could use (for example)

  • Any UNIX ODBC consumer process such as command-line SQL or a Python client
  • Any Web Services compatible client
  • A UNIX script to run prestored UniData commands either to capture the output directly or from a generated data excange file.

If you have other products such as SB/XA or WebDE then there are even more options - particularly so if you have already created framework code you could re-use.

Please full in some details regarding what you wish to achieve and we'llcsee what you could do.

<added> Here is an example of using the Python API to RESTful Web Services https://realpython.com/api-integration-in-python/

Regards
