Has anyone got a JDBC connection to UniData 8.x from Tableau working? The JDBC connection to UniData is set up and working, but Tableau can't see it.
The 64-bit ODBC driver doesn't seem to communicate well with Tableau at all. I did get somewhere with the 32-bit ODBC connection, but it's not performant. Things worked much better when accessing it through an intermediary (Microsoft Access, just to mess around with it), so perhaps Tableau can't handle the quirks of the driver (v7.241).
All my experimentation has been done with Tableau desktop edition, but I do have other editions available. I also have inquired with Tableau, but it's slow going on that front. Any help is appreciated.

I'd recommend using JDBC if the client is Windows based, as there is a performance limitation in the U2 Windows ODBC client driver, though this limit would not apply on UNIX clients which would use a different 3rd-party ODBC driver.
JDBC should work so it's worth setting it up with tracing UniObjects turned on and checking the logs produced. If a solution is is not apparent open a ticket through the usual support channels providing the logs.
NOTE: If using SB/XA and the server and client systems are not both set for USA locale then please note the 'clientencoding' option on the JDBC connection string will need to be specified.
