it comes with openssl 1.1.1n  it is possible to update the openssl version by:

  1. replace the version in udt version
  2. sym link to another version
  3.  update the path so it find the redhat version first
  4. some other way/suggestion that I am not aware of

and will this break anything in udt?

thanks

Doug,

Chapter 9, 'Upgrading OpenSSL to a minor version' in the UniData Security Features V8.2.4, states:

"Upgrading a minor version means that the upgraded version of the API is compatible with the release
version of the API. For example: upgrading from OpenSSL 1.1.1n to OpenSSL 1.1.1o, 1.1.1p, and so on.
These new letter releases are typically patches to the same version and are compatible. It also means
we do not support upgrading OpenSSL from version 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 (or other major version changes)
because the API is incompatible."
