Trying to understand how the login process works on Windows when we use Accuterm and telnet to the Universe server.

One of our users gets this message:

Welcome to the Rocket U2 UniVerse Telnet Server.
Enter user name: hrs\\BOB
Enter password:
This directory is not set up for uniVerse.
Would you like to set it up (Y/N)?

Our other users can login to the database just fine.

All users should be connecting to the single Universe directory we have on the server.

What directory is this BOB user trying to connect to?

How do we get this user to connect to the Universe directory?

Hi Gil,
How is the telnet user policy defined on the system? The following is the snippet from the UV Admin Guide.

Specify the user policy by selecting one of the following options:
â–ª Home Account - Users connect to their home directory, which must be a valid UniVerse
account.
â–ª Home Directory - Users connect to their home directory. If the home directory is not a
UniVerse account, users are prompted to set up the account. This is the default setting.
â–ª Any Account - Users can connect to any valid UniVerse account.
â–ª Any Directory - Users can connect to any directory. If the directory is not a UniVerse account,
UniVerse prompts to set up the account.
â–ª UV Account - Specifies that the user connects to an existing UniVerse account in the
UV.LOGINS file.
â–ª UV Directory - Users connect to a directory defined in the UV.LOGINS file, and can create a
UniVerse account in that directory if the directory is not already configured for UniVerse.

The user policy would impact the behavior of a user logging in via uvtelnet.
