Hello Forum,
memory is clearly seen on our client's production cluster,
To release memory and avoid occasional OOM they restart Vertica on the host.
glibc is higher than 2.17
Do we have any solution for that?

thanks.

I think a (maybe multiple) OOM relate bug was fixed on -14, so I would recommend upgrading to the latest hot fix.

Correct. Some fixes to Vertica were introduced which reduces the occurrence of memory leaks and the latest version is v7.2.3-22. Read the following support notice to get an overview of the issues identified and the fixed glibc version:

https://my.vertica.com/kb/Known-Errors-in-CentOS-and-RHEL-7-Vertica-Impact/Content/SupportNotices/Known-Errors-in-CentOS-and-RHEL-7-Vertica-Impact.htm

Also several of our customers have swapped their glibc memory manager for jmalloc with no reported major problems. Customers did report a more stable memory usage pattern.

Hope this all helps.
