Does anyone know whether ArcGIS can connect to Vertica or not?
Other DWHs such Netezza are supported.

+1You can always connect to Vertica using ODBC or JDBC. ArcGIS supports an ODBC data connection.
So create an ODBC data source for Vertica (download the Vertica client), and use that data source.
