Connect and Use RStudio with Vertica Guide

Using RODBC I had tons of issues. I ended up using JDBC and it was a lot easier to setup. Only you tricky think o. Windows was gettin the R Java package to run.

Connecting to Vertica is very straight forward and similar to any other database. RStudio is nothing more than an IDE for R scripting. I've attached a *.r file as an example.

1. Install the Vertica drivers for the appropriate OS.
2. Create a System DSN with the appropriate details(in the attached example it is "VerticaPOC".

I've attached a step-by-step guide that I made back in 2017. It's a bit outdated but the concept remains the same.
