For Spirent, Vertica database technology will be embedded into their InTouch CNA solution. Spirent chose OpenText on account of price-performance aspects. The columnar lookups, the projections, gives Spirent very strong query response performance, the ability to also run on commodity hardware, giving the much needed price advantage that’s also bolstered by the columnar compression.
