Hi,
I'm using a 24-node enterprise mode Vertica DB version 12.0.4-25.

I wanted to redesign an old projection and get recommendations on encoding and compression for my table columns.

Using this function (that used to work in previous versions):

select DESIGNER_DESIGN_PROJECTION_ENCODINGS('my_projection');

Produced this error:

DDT statement interfered with Database Designer
Column "storage_containers.storage_type" does not exist

Indeed I saw that that column was deprecated in previous versions, unfortunately Vertica QA missed this when removing the column.

Trying a more complete design process eventually failed for the same reason

Does anyone know about this?
Is there a workaround?

Thanks!

Amir

Please open a support case and share your projection design so that we can review it. I hope it was created in vertica 9.2 or below version.
