Hi Team,
I need to propose a hardware configuration for going up against Exadata X7-2 Quarter Rack.
The Exadata HW is as follows:

* Database Servers (2x servers, 96 cores) with 24 cores Xeon 8160 processors (2.1 GHz)
* Storage Capacity: 360 TB disk, 76.8 TB Flash

The test consists of several heavy queries with a dozen joins each which currently take up to an hour to run on MS SQL - usual DWH stuff. I don't have the table DDL or sample data so can't inspect closely at the moment.

What hardware (#nodes, etc) should I propose for testing as a first approximation? Should I go from the number of cores (96 cores) or the storage (~400 TB)? Looking for a rule of thumb if anyone has one.

Thanks & Merry Christmas!
Pavel
