Are you trying to install the Vertica client?

Makes sure you have Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1.

See:

There was a hotfix in Vertica 9 that may be of interest to you:

VER-54336 - "Vertica driver installations failed on Windows server 2012 R2, due to failing to install .NET 3.5. This issue is resolved. Note that installing Vertica on Windows OS requires an internet connection."

Pay attention to that last part... "installing Vertica on Windows OS requires an internet connection".

See:
https://my.vertica.com/docs/ReleaseNotes/9.0.x/Vertica_9.0.x_Release_Notes.htm

An internet connection is needed so that the .net framework 3.5sp1 can be turned on:

See:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2734782/net-framework-3-5-installation-error-0x800f0906-0x800f081f-0x800f0907

Although, if your Windows client is in Azure, you most likely have an internet connection

Hi all
Search a log file, you could find it in ...USER/AppData/LocalTemp/Vertiva_Client_Installer....log.
In my case a trouble was in vc_redist 2015 (exactly 2015!!!). After installing vc_redist 2015 you could intall VerticaSetup.
