Info messages copy command how to suppress

Why would you want to suppress this message? If you want to load one million rows, and a thousand rows are rejected, you want to know why, don't you? And this message tells you where to search for the rejected rows and the reason why they were rejected.

thanks but the same copy command worked before without any info message. If its 'INFO' maybe thought we can as well suppress.If I put to ouput file this message is not captured in the file

The messages from vsql are very helpful. However if there are no rejected records we still get the NOTICE and HINT. Also, in a batch environment where I have a process that is looking at the results returned from vsql I may not want to see these messages.

dbadmin=> copy h from '/home/dbadmin/h.txt' rejected data 'jim.txt';
NOTICE 7850:  In a multi-threaded load, rejected record data may be written to additional files
HINT:  Rejected data may be written to files [jim.txt], [jim.txt.1], etc
 Rows Loaded

No errors as the data was loaded fine...

I tried the "quiet" vsql option, but we still see the messages:

[dbadmin@vertica01 ~]$ vsql -qc "copy h from '/home/dbadmin/h.txt' rejected data 'jim.txt';"

I opened a JIRA ticket (VER-56701) to address this.

PostGreSQL's psql clent has an option that I think we may need to add to Vertica's vsql client:

SET client_min_messages TO WARNING;

No movement on the Jira Other than a comment added on 12/07/2017 by another person asking for this feature too.
