Fixing the server MTU to 1500 stopped packet drops and significantly improved query response times.
Environment
Vertica version 12.x
Situation
After kernel upgrade database was unresponsive. Simple query was getting hung and not returning.
Cause
As per the dmesg showed the error saying that the MTU set on the iface (9000) was larger than on switch (1500).
