Situation
The Vertica EON production database runs in US-EAST1 with backups stored in an S3 bucket in the same region. A US-WEST disaster recovery environment is prepared, and clarification is needed on whether restores can target US-WEST communal storage without IP restrictions or risk to the production US-EAST1 storage.
