Vertica currently supports license installation only during initial database creation in Operator-based deployments. License updates or replacements after creation are not yet supported. An enhancement request has been accepted and is planned for Vertica version 26.2.

Situation
A customer attempted to update or replace a Vertica license after database creation using the Operator and found that the operation was not supported.
