Hi,

Anyone know if we can configure the number of database connections that MC opens for every MC user? The default seems to be 5 sessions.

Example:

I logged into MC as the dbadmin user and the jim_test user. Then in Vertica, I see 5 sessiosn for each:

dbadmin=> select user_name, count(*) from sessions where client_label = 'MC' group by user_name;
 user_name | count
-----------+-------
 dbadmin   |     5
 jim_test  |     5
(2 rows)

Thanks!

So I am thinking there are 5 connections because there are 5 panels on the "Overview" page:

Can someone on the MS team verify this?

Although, according to the link below, "Each client session to MC uses a connection from MaxClientSessions". That's confusing!

Ok, figured it out. The connections are controlled by the "vertica.user.pool.maxidle" console property:

[root@s18384357 config]# grep vertica.user.pool.maxidle /opt/vconsole/config/console.properties
vertica.user.pool.maxidle=5

I changed it to 1 and MC only kept 1 idle session open.

Thanks!
