Is there anything further to know about changing UDP from Broadcast to pt2pt other than the documentation best practices? https://www.vertica.com/kb/SpreadConfigurationBestPractices/Content/SpreadConfigurationBestPractices.htm

Any pros and cons I should know about for my customer?

    IMHO, customers should run broadcast mode in bare metal environments. Unless they run into some UDP traffic issues. Broadcast is more efficient since the packet only need to be sent once, and all the nodes will get it (assuming clean network). If for some reason the nodes are also in different subnets then point to point is required.

    Customers where broadcast could be an issue because something in the network may drop it (AWS doesn't allows broadcasts) then they need to use the point to point.
