I understand that Vertica is used for Predictive maintenance at Nimble storage, and I assume they use Vertica ML or some open source as well. Whichever the case, I am keen to know more technical details around what exactly they do, how do they capture the syslog or other statistics, how & whether to do transformations with in Vertica etc.
Can someone point me in right direction to get low-level details? I need to gear up immediately for similar use-case for predictive maintenance on servers/storage/network devices etc. The discussion is quite at a primitive stage right now, but wanted to ensure that the detailed home-work is done on existing use-case such as Nimble Storage or any other customer that you might be aware.
Would appreciate any advice from you.
