do you mean netmask for private network ?

there is just one network on the cluster
the task is to change the mask for the IPs

re-IP did not help!

Does changing the subnet mask affect Vertica? I don't think so. Changing the broadcast I believe could be an issue.

when we do ip adds, we see the internal IP and mask. Mask is one of cols in network_interfaces system table. the client changed that mask manually and DB could not start because spread could not broadcast... the solution was to re-ip, changing only the broadcast. then Vertica calculated the new mask... we will give explanations later on.
