Hi team,
Do you have experience to share whether Tableau can connect to Vertica with Kerberos or LDAP?

Thanks,

Tableau can connect to a kerberized Vertica cluster via TDC configuration, for information on TDC configuración you can refer to both Vertica and Tableau official docs:

https://www.vertica.com/kb/TableauTT/Content/Partner/TableauTT.htm

https://onlinehelp.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/odbc_customize.html

Thanks!

It works on macOS. But there is issue on Windows, tableau, vsql and klist can not get credentials after kinit, but MIT Kerberos GUI tool can get it.
Vertica 9.1.1-1 and kfw-4.1-amd64.msi are used on Windows 10. And error snapshot, trace log and settings are enclosed, and settings are followed instructions from https://www.simba.com/products/Hive/doc/ODBC_InstallGuide/win/content/odbc/hi/kerberos.htm .

Any idea?

Regards,
DQ

Update, windows has a native klist which is not competitive with MIT’s. After put bin path of MIT-Kerberos at the begin of PATH, klist works well.
But vsql and Vertica ODBC still failed on geting credentials and report “SSPI continuaton error…”.
