Hi all,

There used to be a Parallel Export tool on the HPE Markplace:

https://saas.hpe.com/marketplace/big-data/parallel-export

Anyone know where we can get it today?

Thanks!

I did find this: https://github.com/dingqiangliu/vertica_export
It does say that it's not the latest "Note: This version only support string type values since Vertica6."

Okay - found the latest version. Attached.
This page is also interesting and has step by step instructions - https://www.dbjungle.com/exporting-vast-amounts-of-data-using-parallel-export-for-hpe-vertica/

@LenoyJ - Thanks! Yeah, I saw that DBJunle page and was wondering what happened to the original files for the Udx.

@Jim_Knicely I got a chance to test this UDx out while testing something for a client. The function is really impressive. Some limitations include that it doesn't support the UUID data type (and maybe a few others) as the script predates that. But you can cast the columns while calling the function.

Someone should put this on our github or maybe officially implement it...

I think there was a bit bucket for this. CSE team had it. Not sure if Maurizio Has the credentials. I’ll see if I can find them. We did some changes many years ago but the code is not great.

@LenoyJ I think the best way is using EXPORT TO PARQUET.

But I will sync the hpe marketplace version to my GitHub soon, including your new request about UUID type.
