Hi forum,
in a Vertica POC the client asked me for a good way to look at query profilig info. I have recommended to use MC.
Clients response:

Hello!
Management Console does not support ipv6 only cluster :(

Is this true please? Does MC not work if the cluster connectivity is ipv6 only?
I did not find a hint to such a restriction.

Please advise if this is correct or how to connect MC to a ipv6 cluster.

Thank you
Dieter

After some research I found that MC is not available on IPc6 clusters. See below info from Pavel

Hi Dieter,
FYI – MC has been confirmed to be unsupported for IPv6 clusters, see http://jira.verticacorp.com:8080/jira/browse/VER-30894 and the attached email
Besides the agent issue Denis encountered, there is physically no way to enter an IPv6 address when importing a database into MC as the input fields are for a IPv4 address. More details in the Jira.

This is a severe restriction. Even more: this is undocumented.
This restriction should be mentioned in the Vertica Supported Platfroms guide.
