Hello,
I have a customer who wants to connect to Vertica using JDBC / ODBC through an HTTP proxy, that is to say an external machine, which would like to access Vertica in JDBC / ODBC, but by first connect to an HTTP proxy.
Has anyone managed to set this up before? are there any third party tools that allow that?
Thanks

I've run Vertica using a port-forwarding proxy which is transparent to the user. sshd supports this and might be a safer option than httpd. If they use httpd, two caveats: one, they must use the port-forwarding proxy that doesn't modify or buffer data, and two, HTTP authentication will not be supported in this case.
