Hi, I have an admin trying to set up SSL and is confused by the settings SSLCertificate, SSLPrivateKey, and SSLCA. They are used to web service and other DB that use one key and one cert per hostname, where Vertica appears to use same cert and key for all nodes with no strict hostname checking, but they think all SSL should work like HTTPS, with strict hostname checking, so they've generated one key and cert per node and want to know how to configure that way.
What's the best way to explain why a common certificate and key is still valid as long as the certificate is trusted by the CA and there is a valid certificate chain generated by their CA?
