Hello,

  • Do You have any experiences about integrantion of VERTICA with SPSS?
  • I read (on IBM web pages) that SPSS version 18.1 now supports "SQL Pull down" feature so it should work (in theory at least )

Any experiences or Best Practices to share? I will aprreciate much any hint

Thanks in advance
Maciej

Hello Maciej,

We in Partner Engg Team have tested in-house various version of SPSS but not 18.1. Yes, you are right, IBM has official made the SQL Push back is available as of SPSS 18.1 as per the link
https://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?htmlfid=897/ENUS217-156&infotype=AN&subtype=CA.

This feature was not available in the earlier release, however, was available through a custom database config that was carried out by IBM Services team. I know many of the customer have used the Services team to implement this feature.

This feature allows the SPSS modeler to push "SQL Statement" to process the data in Vertica database and only send the results back to SPSS.

We will have this version of the SPSS tested and publish document based on our experience.

Thanks,
Jawahar.
