Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data 12c is a data integration and replication product that streams transactional data into big data systems in real time, without impacting performance. With the 12.3.0.1 release in December 2016, Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data includes a new JDBC Handler that lets you use a JDBC interface to replicate source transactional data to a target system or database that supports JDBC connectivity.
The Partner Engineering team has received requests to investigate the compatibility of the new JDBC Handler with Vertica and it’s JDBC driver. The attached document describes the testing that we performed in response to these requests. The document covers what was tested and how, and it includes observations based on the results.
The technical exploration document should provide the field with enough information to answer most external queries on this topic.
