Hi forum,
a Vertica prospect had made a decision for Vertica on Azure.
Recently he changed his mind because of
- "low Vertica performance on Azuze"
- "this is not Verticas fault, Azure disks are slow"
As proof he found lot of internet posts on bad Azure disk performance and shared this one

Is this a valid statement?
The prospect has used the officially provided Vertica machine images on Azure (not sure if this is the correct term).
Do we have indication that this perception is correct?
Is Vertica slower on Azure (e.g. compared to AWS)?
Is this related to disk performance on Azure?
