We have Vertica 9.x hosted on azure VM. Is there any process/ document to do point in time recovery ?
Currently we have daily backup and can do recovery from one day old backup set. However if we have someone dropping table or deleting rows before the one day backup is done is there a way to recover ?

Yes you can restore from the backup. If you know the deleted table name can just restore that table from the backup.

. Hi Nimmi , Thanks for your reply.
If we have someone dropping table or deleting rows before the one day backup is complete we dont have a backup to recover for the actions done last 24 hours. Azure gives option to recover any data except last 5 minutes or so. Is there a way this can be done in Vertica . Currently our backups are done on daily basis and take almost 1.30 hr to complete.

You can do azure backup however online filesystem doesn't guarantee the consistency of the catalog on all nodes. Other option would be you can take a hard-link backup every hour.
