Hello Colleagues

Not really a Vertica question, so please accept my apologies for asking here...

When we were part of HPE, I was able to download an official/licensed VMWare Workstation for use on my Windows laptop (in which I would run CentOS and Vertica instances).

Now we are part of MF, I was wondering if we still have access to VMWare Workstation (or VMWare Workstation Player)?

After spending the past 3 days communicating with our IT Helpdesk trying to resolve post-migration problems, I thought I would ask here first in the hope that I can get a quicker answer ;-)

FYI According to VMWare (https://www.vmware.com/uk/products/workstation-player/workstation-player-evaluation.html), we cannot use VMWare Workstation Player for Commercial use WITHOUT a license

Regards
Mark

That's a great question!

Although, I use Oracle VirtualBox (Free) for my VMs :)

I replied by email, but it's not here. Another migration glitch, I suppose. Anyways:

After migration completes, you should have an application on your desktop or start menu called "myIT Software Center". If it's still licensed by Micro Focus, you should be able to install from here.

If your Software Center is empty, follow instructions at https://myitsupport.ext.hpe.com/myITsupport/SEITSArticle?ArticleNumber=000005540

The reason it's taken over 3 days post-migration (and am trying to re-install VMWare et al) is my laptop had to be re-imaged :-(. So technically, I have not actually gone through the migration process.
As such I do not have the myIT Software Center option (though previously did).
Clicking on the link you provided, and using my HPE email address and previous password (my password was changed ~ 2 weeks ago), I manged to get to myITsupport - which as you suggested, is showing as empty...
I'll follow the instructions provided on that page and wait the suggested 24 hours...

Thanks for the hints. I'll let you know the outcome
