The Vertica RPM files for RHEL include "RHEL6" although we do not support RHEL version 6.x
For example: vertica-11.1.1-0.x86_64.RHEL6.rpm
The "6" in the file name confuse customers who think that the RPM is intended for RHEL/CentOS version 6.

We just haven't made any changes from the beginning. I think the RE team would need to address this change. I think it would be a positive change; been asked several times about this. Maybe we drop the 6 and go with "RHEL". The DL for Vertica-RE is Vertica Release Engineering (vertica-releng@microfocus.com)
