Can we maintain MF COBOL 5.1.12 version running on Redhat 7.2 to Redhat 8.2 without upgrade the MF COBOL?.

Welcome to the Micro Focus Community Site!

 

It sounds like you are currently running Server for COBOL 5.1 Wrap Pack 12. You can confirm this by setting your environment as you normally do to use your product, and then providing the output of the following command:

 

cob -V

 

(Please note the flag on the above command is an upper case V)

 

The older Server Express and Server for COBOL products are not supported on Red Hat 8.x. You would need to upgrade to (and rebuild your application with) Visual COBOL as your Development product. You'd also need to upgrade to COBOL Server for your Deployment product. Micro Focus recommends installing the latest version for these, 7.0 Patch Update 1.
