Copybook issue after Upgrading to Visual Cobol version 7

After upgrading VisualCobol from version 4 to to version 7, on AIX, we encountered a problem related to copybooks

This is the error I have:

* 2572 COPY "/xcl/lib/rec/01.cfrb-xui-co".
* 8-S********************************** ( 0)**
** Unknown copybook /xcl/lib/rec/01.cfrb-xui-co specified

it looks like the new version of compiler does not accept copybook files which have an extension longer than 10 characters.

Evidently in version 4 it worked fine.

Is there a new restriction implemented and how can I override it

    Welcome to the Micro Focus Community site.

     

    I've reproduced the issue you reported, with copy file extensions longer than 10 characters not being accepted in 7.0. I haven't found any other reports of this, and don' t know of any workaround at this point. If you would, please create a Support Case for this problem. You can request that it be assigned to me, Blair McDonald.
