Data File Tools error

Hi there,

Just installed "Visual COBOL for Visual Studio Personal Edition 10.0" on Windows 10 Pro.

Can't open: Data File Tools. Getting this java error message:

"A Java Exception has occurred" 

This is the Java version I have.

java version "1.8.0_451"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_451-b10)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.451-b10, mixed mode)

I assume that you are seeing that error when you are trying to start the Data File Tools from the Visual COBOL Start menu group?

That version of Java is not supported in Visual COBOL 10. There is a table of supported versions in the docs at Supported Operating Systems and Third-party Software

Visual COBOL provides a supported version of Java in its installation.

Try setting your JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Micro Focus\\Visual COBOL\\AdoptOpenJDK" and set your path to include "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Micro Focus\\Visual COBOL\\AdoptOpenJDK\\bin" and then retry.
