Hello Brahim Nouri,
Welcome to the Community Discussion forum for Visual COBOL. Here are a few questions and suggestions that may help:
1) What Operating System and version is this on? (For example Red Hat on x86-64, or similar)
2) What version of Visual COBOL is installed? Please share the full output of the following command:
$ cat /opt/microfocus/VisualCOBOL/etc/cobver
3) In the root session where you're trying to start the RDO Daemon, have you set the minimum complete environment (COBDIR, PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH) as required by Visual COBOL? One easy way to do this is to source (or dot in) the script cobsetenv that Micro Focus provides with the product. For example (note, there is a space after the period in the following command)
# . /opt/microfocus/VisualCOBOL/bin/cobsetenv
4) Has the Micro Focus License Server been started? For most product versions and platforms, this can be done with:
# /var/microfocuslicensing/bin/startboth.sh
Please let us know the answers to the above.

Hello Brahim Nouri,
Thanks for sharing that information. You mentioned that COBDIR is set, I'm wondering about the other 2 environment variables I mentioned. Since this is AIX, are LIBPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH set to include /opt/microfocus/Visual COBOL/lib? Is PATH set to include /opt/microfocus/VisualCOBOL/bin?

FYI, the license is not installed yet .clould that be the problem?

Hello Brahim Nouri,
Yes, the lack of a license could prevent the RDO Daemon from starting. I would suggest installing a license to see if it helps.
However, I don't think that would cause the other error message that you showed in your original post: "Error - Product build environment incorrectly set" error.
Because of the complexity of this issue, please open a Support Case to continue the investigation. You can request that it be assigned to Blair McDonald.
