Installed Cobol software: Micro Focus Visual COBOL Development Hub 7.0 - Patch Update 18

Invoking debug by setting export DEVANIM=+A and trying to debug a program but getting below error and unable to proceed with the debugging.

WS-DEBUG=+A
/usr/bin/X11/xterm Xt error: Can't open display: localhost:0

Compilation and runtime are working fine without any issues.

Thanks for sharing the AIX version and DevHub versions in use. A few questions that may help us learn more…

1) I noticed that you've raised another question on the Community for other versions of DevHub, does the same debugging work in those environments? Are those installations on the same AIX machine?

2) Is this debugging using the character-based Animator, or are you remotely debugging the execution on DevHub using Visual COBOL for Eclipse?

3) Has your System Administrator for this AIX machine configured ssh to use X11Forwarding and related settings, and is the ssh configuration different from the machines where debugging might be working?

Finally, investigating debugging issues may require some exchange of information not suited for a public forum. You might considering opening a Support Case with OpenText to get some help with this.
